Through licensed companies only
Hourly domestic help through licensed companies
Sometimes a family doesn’t need a live-in worker but help for a set number of hours: one day a week to tidy the home, a visit before hosting guests, or extra help in Ramadan. That is what hourly domestic help offers — known in Saudi Arabia as «عاملات بالساعة».
This service is only provided through licensed domestic labour companies, and the worker stays employed by the company. With SaudiMaid you set the hours and visits once, and your request reaches licensed companies who contact you with offers.

When does hourly help suit you?
It suits a home that is generally well kept and needs regular help with tidying, cleaning and ironing, without a worker all day. Many families book one or two visits a week for a fixed number of hours and adjust the schedule as they need.
It also suits temporary needs: before family occasions, in the last days of Ramadan, after returning from travel, or when someone at home is unwell and the house needs help for a few days.
If you need daily help for weeks or months, a monthly domestic worker may suit you; if you need a live-in worker for a long period, read about recruitment.
Why only through a licensed company?
Hourly domestic services are regulated in the Kingdom and only provided by companies holding the required licence. The worker is employed by the company with proper documents, the company is responsible for the service and the worker, and you have a clear party to contact.
Dealing with individuals offering their services directly, or with unlicensed providers, may put you in breach of the rules and protects neither you nor the worker. That’s why we don’t list individuals or profiles — we pass your request to licensed companies.
How to book
- Set the hours per visit and visits per week.
- Set the tasks in the order that matters to you: kitchen, bathrooms, rooms, ironing.
- Compare offers from licensed companies on hours, price and cancellation policy.
- Book through the company and agree the days and times.
- On the first visit, explain the tasks and any delicate areas of the home.
After the first visits, review the schedule with the company: you may find you need more hours on a particular day, or that one visit a week is enough. Being able to adjust is one of the advantages of this service.
What to agree
- Hours per visit, and the minimum booking.
- Days and times, and what happens on holidays.
- Tasks included, and whether the worker brings tools or uses yours.
- The cancellation and rescheduling policy.
- What happens if the worker is absent on a regular booking.
- How to contact the company with any concern.
Be realistic about hours: a large home can’t all be done in two hours, so set priorities or book more time.
Treating the worker with respect
An hourly worker does tiring work in limited time. She is entitled to work only on the agreed tasks, to drinking water and a short rest, to a suitable place to pray if needed, and never to be asked to do dangerous work such as climbing to high places without safety.
If you have a concern about the work, contact the company calmly. The company is responsible for the service and can address it or arrange what suits you.
Don’t ask the worker to work for relatives or neighbours outside the booking, or extend the hours with her directly without the company. Every change goes through the company, so the service stays lawful and the worker’s rights are protected.
Questions to ask the company
- Is the company licensed for hourly domestic services?
- What is the minimum number of hours per visit?
- Can the same worker come each visit?
- Does the worker bring tools and supplies?
- What is the cancellation and rescheduling policy?
- How do I contact you with a concern?
What affects the cost of hourly help?
We don’t list prices, because they vary between companies and cities. But offers are usually shaped by:
- Hours per visit and visits per week.
- A one-off booking or a package or regular subscription.
- Days and times, and seasons such as Ramadan.
- Who brings the tools and supplies.
Compare written offers and read what affects the cost.
